Assignment #3--Assigned Wednesday, December 21st

Facebook Page Project--

  • Create a Facebook page for a Cartoon Character or a Fictional Character from a Book or Movie
  • You will be using a 8.5 x 11 paper of computer paper--You may work with ONE other person (you may NOT have more than 2 in a group)
  • You can create a Good Profile
    • One that demonstrates staying safe online

  • Or a Bad Profile
    • One that demonstrates dangers that can be presented through using Facebook

  • You must have:
    • A Profile Picture of your person
    • At least 4 Status Updates
    • Comments (at least 1 per Status Update)
    • Friend List (with at least 3 friends)
    • Must be neat
    • Must be colorful
    • Must be spelled correctly
    • A 1-2 paragraph write up explaining why this is a good page or a bad page--Attach this to the back
    • Make sure your name(s) are on the BACK of the project-NOT ON THE FRONT

  • You may work in teams of 2 (or alone if you would like)
  • You may use the Black and White printer and any supplies in the room

Assignment #2--Assigned Monday, December 19th

  • Using the Internet, research how to stay safe online
  • Create a PowerPoint that has at least 10 tips on staying safe online--Each tip should have a slide
  • Make sure you have a title slide with your name
    • You may work with a partner but if you do you must find 15 tips
  • Then find an article about staying safe online or what happens if you do not stay safe

  • Add 5 annotations (same as in the Logo project--refer to the Logo and Branding page if you need a refresher for this)
    • If you are working with a partner you must have 8 annotations
  • See Mrs. Ferris when done and she will instruct you on how to turn it in (you must see Mrs. Ferris in order to get these instructions)

Assignment #1--Assigned Wednesday, December 14th

  • Watch this video on how to complete an internet hunt (this goes into more detail than we went over in class--I cannot show this on the projector due to a disconnected wire that must be repaired--You do not need sound to follow along)


  • Complete this Internet Hunt(questions 1-12, you do not need to do the challenge)
    • The school phone number is 313-535-4000
    • If a link will NOT work, write "link is blocked", "link won't work".....
    • Google Directory is going to give you a message, write that
  • Write all your answers in a Word Document or the body of an email
  • You DO NOT NEED to write the questions
  • Email your completed assignment to Mrs. Ferris (you may also hand write the answers if you prefer)
